Get in touch
One address, read by the person who writes the content. Corrections are welcome and nothing here is too small to report.
What to write about, and what to include
The details below are not a form to fill in. They are simply what turns a message into something that can be acted on without a round trip.
Something on the site is wrong
A command that fails on your platform, an option that moved between releases, an explanation that does not match what you see. These are the most useful messages the site gets.
IncludeThe page URL, your platform and version, what you ran, and what came back.
Something is missing
A vendor, a protocol, a script or a tool that is not here. Requests do not go into a void — they go into the backlog that decides what gets built next, and a request from someone who hit the gap outranks a guess.
IncludeWhat you were trying to do, and what you ended up doing instead.
A tool gave you an answer you cannot explain
Usually that means the page did not say enough about how to read the result, which is a defect in the page rather than in the tool.
IncludeThe tool, the input, and what you expected to see.
Advertising, affiliates or anything commercial
Fine to ask. Nothing on this site is ranked, recommended or withheld based on what it earns, and that is not negotiable — so proposals that depend on it will be declined.
IncludeWho you are and what you are proposing, plainly.
What to expect
PermitANY is maintained by one person alongside other work, so replies are not immediate and a long message may wait a few days. A clear correction usually gets fixed before it gets answered — if the page changes and you never hear back, that is why.
Two things this address cannot do. It is not a support channel for your network: nobody here can see your devices, and troubleshooting advice from a stranger with no access is worth what you pay for it. And please do not send configurations, logs or captures — they carry addresses, names and often credentials. If you need to share a configuration with anyone, strip it first.
Privacy
Your message and address are used to reply and for nothing else: no list, no newsletter, no third party. The rest is in the privacy policy, and what the project is in about.
